Celtics Club men and Bhubaneswar Athletic Association (BAA) women emerged champions in the 57th Odisha State Basketball Championship, which concluded at Barabati Stadium here today. In the contrasting finals, local outfit Celtics Club prevailed over a fighting Odisha Postal 69-58, while BAA got the better of Cuttack District Athletic Association (CDAA) 72-44.
Earlier in the men’s semifinals, Celtics Club beat BSNL, while Odisha Postal defeated Odisha Police. In the women’s last-four stage, BAA outplayed Club the Entertainer 70-44, while CDAA scraped past Bhadrak 27-18.
Odisha Olympic Association secretary Asirbad Behera handed over the trophies at the presentation ceremony. Odisha Basketball Association president Ashok Sahu, working president Udayanath Prusty and secretary Gyana Ranjan Parida were present on the occasion.
